4th Of July Weekend

4TH OF JULY WEEKEND

Jack, Carrie and the KIDS went the night before to ENTERPRISE RESERVOIR and spent the night in a TENT! Our FAMILY went over Saturday morning with the boat. We played the WHOLE day on the boat...Chloee and Lexie TRIED to ski--with NO luck :) We pretty much pulled them around the lake while the skis followed! Jack tried it later on in the day and it was pretty much the same :) The TUBE we had borrowed didn't have a PLUG so unfortunately we couldn't use it. Mike and the GIRLS fished and Chloee was the first one to reel one in! SHE was so excited! Lexie caught TWO also! Even though there was quite a bit of bickering and fighting going on we still had a GOOD time. That night we went back to Jack and Carrie's camp and fixed DUTCH OVER TATERS, DUTCH OVEN GREEN BEENS, and BBQ STEAK! I brought a picnic cake that I had made at home, and we had SMORES. Now...let me tell ya about these marshmallows...Grandma Hawkes had found these HUGE marshmallows at the store. They're called "CAMPFIRE" Marshmallows. They are 2 inches long and about an inch WIDE. They're a marshmallow on STEROIDS. ha ha! We roasted them and put them on the graham crackers with the chocolate and they were ewwy gooey GOOD!! It was a bit hard to keep the marshmallows from dripping off the sides though :) The food was waaay yummy! The only downfall to the whole day, was this little SQUIRREL. That little pest...he ate through the handle on our ICE CHEST, he opened a MIRACLE WHIP jar and had a taste and ran off with the LID...He bit through a plastic lid on a BIN...what a little nuisance! It was fun to be there again. It's been ages since we were there. OUR dad used to take us there when we were younger to FISH! It brought bake a lot of GOOD memories. Thanks for such a WONDERFUL day!!!

Ba Ba Black Sheep

BA BA BLACK SHEEP

The girls have their sheep once again and we go down to feed/walk them every night. This particular night my aunt and uncle were here visiting and were able to see the SHEEP! It was fun to see them and enjoy their company. The GIRLS want them to move here...They MISS them something terrible. They have two GOLDEN RETRIEVERS and loved to go with Aunt Jolene to walk them...LOVE YOU GUYS!

Another year of softball has come and gone! She did good! She made the ALL STAR TEAM and those games start next week! Pictures are sure to follow...GOOD JOB LEX

Cali Part V

6TH DAY IN CALI

We just played at the BEACH all day long! This guy came by and gave the girls a little CRAB to play with and then MIKE found three other CRABS in the rocks. They played with them for a couple hours. Corbin held one and it PINCHED his little finger. He said it was a MEAN crab! When we were leaving the girls asked these little boys if they wanted them. They were so EXCITED...Mike said that our little girls gave those boys CRABS!!! ha ha (inside joke). We went back to the CONDO and just hung out. We were exhausted. I took a nap with CORBIN and Shay just hung out and Lexie, Chloee and Mike went down to the pool for a while. We ate PIZZA that night and watched TV. What a FUN vacation. The trip home was a LONG one. Corbin had had enough with the CAR and we had to stop every hour or so to let him move about. it took us 10 hours to get home...oh well that how it is with little ones...GOOD TIMES-GOOD TIMES!

Cali Part IV

5TH DAY IN CALI

We spent the morning at the BEACH. The kids made SAND CASTLES and burried each other in the sand. They even burried good ole DAD. Corbin wore himself off and took a nice NAP on the BEACH. The girls played in the OCEAN and gathered up more SEA SHELLS. Then we went back to the condo and showered and ate lunch. Then we headed to see the U.S.S. MIDWAY. It's a HUGE retired aircraft carrier. This was MIKE's highlight of the trip...he was in his heigth of GLORY that is until Chloee decided to start messing with airplanes and touching things she shouldn't. Lexie, being the little mother that she is...was trying to control her when Chloee decided to throw a few PUNCHES at Lexie and unfortunately their DAD happened to see it. Then Corbin decided to take a RUN for it past some of the workers, and they freaked out! Telling us to control him...Well that was IT. Mike blew his top and we ended up leaving, having only spent an hour and a half on the carrier. Needless to say, it was quite a silent trip back to the Condo. But we did get some GOOD pictures while we were there - - ha ha all you can do is look back on the situation and LAUGH...and remember those were the GOOD times. RIGHT!
